Let The Steam Die Down

I had to skip the Warm Winter Fasola Camp, but all the cooking for the Anniversary Singing tomorrow is done. I am bringing:

- Quinoa salad
- Payasam, which is an Indian rice pudding with cardamom, cashews, and golden raisins
- A dish of Swiss chard, egg noodles, and herbs, chosen because I had a pound of Swiss chard that needed to be used up.

Now to rest for a little while, and then perhaps I shall go contra dancing tonight!

The recipe just called for raisins. I chose golden raisins because, though I'm not a fan of raisins in general, I prefer golden raisins to dark raisins. The payasam turned out well. I was pleased, and it's definitely a keeper.

Maybe I'll make it for the grad students' potluck.
