My Coat Has Arrived!

The new coat finally made it, so I don't have to go around with my old coat hanging open any more. Yay! This new one is going to be very warm, I can just tell. Also, it turns out to have an inner cuff that fits up snug against the wrist so cold air can't get in up your sleeves.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm.

That sounds wonderful! Now when you finish your degree, you have to take a job in a cold climate.

I've heard rumors that there may be something coming up in Michigan soon. A parka would sure be good there!

Mmmmm. Enjoy it:D I am still soooo happy that I shelled out money for my big fat puffy down jacket a few years ago. It will keep you warm and toasty for a long time.

I took it out for a spin tonight, and it was lovely and yummy warm.

Those inside fitted cuffs are very nice. Not only do they keep you warm, but they also prevent interior long sleeves from poking out. Okay, maybe that's no big deal, but I don't like my shirtsleeves hanging out below my coat/jacket sleeves.

Sleeve length is usually not a problem for me, since I tend to walk around with my hands all turtled up inside my sleeves anyway. But I think I'll like the inside fitted cuffs on really cold days!

Yay! I'm sure you're fabulous, dahling.

And warm, which is possibly more important than fabulousness.

Hee!

A long time ago, I read a wonderful column in the Trib all about how, yes, it's true that Chicago does not have Beautiful People the way New York has Beautiful People. The reason for this, said the columnist, is that when it's three degrees outside and the wind is blowing, a Beautiful People coat just won't cut it. You want a coat that looks like it was a comforter in a former life.

So, yes, warm > fabulousness any day of the week and twice on Tuesdays!

ROTFL! YEah, try sex-in-the-city style stunts in Chicago!
But I bet you`re purple stylish and definitely warm, whic is a point. May it lives to see many winters! :-)

The coat turned out more maroon than purple, which is fine. And I'm definitely warm! I do like this new coat, and I hope it lasts me a further dozen years.

Hey, and if winter ever shows up, you can wear it!

Whoever invented that cuff thing was a genius. It sure does keep the heat in.

Yes, well, this is the Midwest. Winter's bound to come long sooner or later. If not this year, then next year. And I will be Prepared whenever it does decide to show its face!
