Amazingly enough, I got straight A's this semester! First straight-A run in grad school, baby! I shall have to send updated transcripts to the Ph.D. programs.

Yay!! Hurrah!! Woo-hoo!! Congrats, FP. We knew you were a clever Pony :-)

I’m so pleased for you. Will you join me in a celebratory dance? And perhaps a few glasses of wine?

A Pony of most remarkable brain. And application.

Thank you. Definitely the application. Three of them, in fact, totaling around $275 in various fees.

Thank you! I don't know if Ph.D's come in summa cum laude form, but we can always hope.

CONGRATULATIONS! What great news. You weren't surprised, were you?

Thanks! Actually, I was a little surprised. I got an A from a professor who's never given me an A before. He and I have a few fundamental disagreements about writing, but I guess he liked my final paper.

Congratulatins, Pony! Yes, we know you are clever and intelligent, but that is quite an accomplishment nonetheless. Happy New Year to you, and I am so looking forward to vicariously enjoying your Island adventures.

Thank you! And you'll hear all about the Island once I'm back in Grad School Town.

I am only surprised that you didn't do it sooner! *BIG hugs.*

Woman, you impress me so much. You just..wow. That is such an accomplishment, but I see the passion you have for your subject, and hear of the hard, hard work you do toward mastering the information, and all...and I am not at all surprised that you got those straight A's.

I heard something, btw, about Yale having recieved HUGE grants to its music dept. Would that effect your major? Are you checking them out?

*takes a bow*

I am proud of that record. It boosted my GPA, too.

Yale did indeed receive HUGE grants to its music department -- the music students essentially don't have to pay tuition any more. Unfortunately, Yale does not have an ethnomusicology division. Grrrr. Harvard does, though, and that's one of the schools where I've applied for the Ph.D.

Perhaps when I am Dr. Pony, I will found Yale's ethno program. Of course, that means I'd have to live in New Haven, but hey.
