Once More Into The Breach

Graar. School starts today. Gotta remember to pick up a notebook before class, put Le Thesis on my course grid, and pay tuition by Friday. Today's lovely course offerings include Hebrew and Organology, taught by none other than the lovely I.N.P.O.D. herself. Subsequent days to feature gamelan and a course called "The Folklore of Festivals and Celebrations," which looks like it will be massively cool. I see it as sort of an indulgence in my life.

Good luck with your semester! I'm sure you will do well. :-) The Folklore or Festivals and Celebrations does sound cool! I am a bit jealous of the Hebrew class, too. Our local uni offered one a few years back and signed up, but not enough others did so they dropped it. *sniff*

Having browsed through the books for Folklore, it looks like it's going to be awesome. Perhaps some of it might leak into my writing.

The Hebrew class here is just packed. Two professors, three sections. Unfortunately, I had to take a section taught by the grouchy professor instead of the really cool professor I had last semester. On the other hand, now that I'm not depending on Nice Hebrew Professor for a grade, I'll probably interview her for Le Thesis, so that's cool.

OOH! Folklore ROCKS!

I bet you will do fine with the grouch. You're a real student, and even some of the grouchiest tend to appreciate that.

(I had the UBERgrouch of all grouches in one of my I THINK 200 level English classes. Wellington was the man's name. He came into class pulling an oxygen tank behind him. Thoroughly cantankerous old cuss. I adored him. I sat down in front, and wasn't a jock or a sorrority chick..which helped alot. But I'm sure you can figure out something like that in grad terms to degrouch the grouch. :). )

I'm sure the grouch will like me. The question is, how long before I start really studying up on how to be snarky in Hebrew at the grouch.

Just from looking at the course books, it will be a nifty course. And maybe you'll read a few more stories dealing with festivals after this semester. . .
