Ok, it's lunchtime here so it has to be ridiculously early where you are! I wasn't expecting you to post so I've already dropped by today but I really hope you have a wonderful time. And congrats again! I'll practice my deferential bow for when I have to call you Master in a couple of hours ;-)

All done! The ceremony went off fabulously, and I am now French Pony, MA!

Congratulations, Master Pony! I'm so excited for you. I hope there'll be a full report soon :-)

Congratulations! Well done, Master Pony. I'm excited for you. Now, don't choke on the hood. :>)

Enjoy your day.

Got through it completely unchoked. It was a fantastic day.
May. 14th, 2006 02:22 pm (UTC)
congratulations again, Pony. Enjoy the ceremony. :)

It was a long ceremony, but the speakers were good. I'm official now!

Master to Master, hooray!
May. 14th, 2006 05:56 pm (UTC)
Or Pony Master. Enjoy the outfit! And, of course, the admiration and respect of family and random bystanders.
May. 14th, 2006 10:37 pm (UTC)
I got dressed at home before the ceremony and walked to the arena in my cap, gown, and hood, with Mom and Dad Pony. It's fun to see people slow down in cars to look at you, or to have random strangers (parents of other grads) yell "congratulations!" from the porches.
May. 14th, 2006 11:30 pm (UTC)
Brava! Now go enjoy your summer off before it starts up again.
May. 15th, 2006 03:25 am (UTC)
Thanks! I may just take the summer off to do thesis revisions and work on moving to Chicago without a summer job getting in the way. It might be a nice change of pace.
May. 15th, 2006 12:07 am (UTC)
Yay, congratulations!
May. 15th, 2006 03:24 am (UTC)
Thank you! I feel like a million bucks.
May. 15th, 2006 05:09 am (UTC)
Hehe...you're Master Pony...I'm Mrs. Gwen. All kinds of cool stuff is happening! Okay, okay, categorizing getting a Master's degree and holy matrimony as "cool stuff" probably doesn't do either one justice! But hey, I worked tonight and I'm a BIT pooped. Imagine writing the whole danged newspaper tomorrow! AND dragging an intern around. AND doing a special section layout. Oie!

CONGRATULATIONS to the infinity degree for ya, Pony! Awesomeness personified! Someday, I'll be writing you advice when I got for my MA in Journalism!

Until then...enjoy yaself!
May. 15th, 2006 05:10 am (UTC)
I mean writing YOU FOR advice...when I go for my MA...sheesh. Bed time

There were times yesterday when I thought that getting an MA was kind of like getting married. There's the special outfit, the solemn ceremony, your parents show up and take pictures, the ritual parades, the presents, the change in life status.

But, all in all, you had the prettier headgear, I have my freedom, and your wedding wasn't played on a Jumbotron. It all evens out in the end.
May. 15th, 2006 02:51 pm (UTC)
Congratulations, Master Pony! :^D
May. 15th, 2006 05:41 pm (UTC)
Thank you! I feel like I've really accomplished something.
May. 16th, 2006 09:56 am (UTC)
Yay for the Pony Master. Err, Master Pony! Do I have to bow and scrape when I address you now? heh heh
May. 17th, 2006 02:25 am (UTC)
One of my aunts sent me the best graduation card EVAR. It had a flap to cut off and attach to one's garment that read: "I've Graduated! You may bow before me, kiss my tassel and lavish me with GIFTS!!!"

I'm still chuckling over that.
May. 17th, 2006 06:07 pm (UTC)
Congratulations Master Pony! Belated but still heartfelt. Enjoy your summer!
May. 17th, 2006 09:19 pm (UTC)
Thank you! I'm working on thesis revisions and moving to Chicago. Other than that, I may just take the summer off. Things'll heat up pretty quickly when I start my Ph.D. program, and it'd be nice to take a break first. What do you think?
May. 18th, 2006 08:41 am (UTC)
Break? What is that? ;-)

Seriously, I'd say a break is highly recommendable, if you want to remain sane for the rest of the year...

Wait, Chicago...Does that mean that the ethnobabes are parting? Pity...Did they gradaute, too? Hope so.
May. 18th, 2006 01:52 pm (UTC)
Yes, unfortunately the ethnobabes must part. Tuareg Ethnobabe is, as far as I know, still finishing her thesis. Quechua Ethnobabe got her MA last year (she's a year ahead of me), but is staying at the University to do her Ph.D. And me, well, I'm off to other places.

But I think we will always be the Ethnobabes.

Oh, BIGTIME congratulations! HUGS!! That is so awesome, and I knew you'd do it, and do it well!

Now, on for the Doctorate!

HUGS again!
