Withdrawal Already?

I just finished packing my books. Hooray. ACK! I have three and a half weeks until this move, and I have no books of my own left! And the CDs and movies will be the next to go. Fortunately, the public library isn't far away, or I really would go insane.

On a brighter note, I watched the movie Maurice, the first part of which is set at Cambridge in 1910. Apparently, the boys had to wear their doofy academic robes and mortarboards all around campus on a regular basis. Makes me feel better about only having to rent a set every few years for commencement.

That is like stuffing all your friends in boxes. A house without books is unfriendly, uncvilized even!

yes, we have a flair for the dramatic this morning, whydoyouask?

Half my stuffed animals are in the boxes, too. It's all downhill from here, until August 15th. Then I get to unpack everything at the new apartment.

Why did you pack your books three and half weeks in advance?! Those and my stuffed animals would have been the last to go in! Get thee to a library quick smart. Or maybe you could not read and use the opportunity to do some more writing over the next few weeks ;-)

I think it's be quite cool wearing academic robes all the time. You could even still have your pyjamas on under them.

I'm not sure. Either because they're the easiest things to pack, or because I'm crazy. Or possibly both. I do have some library books around, though. I made sure to pick up Split-Level Dykes To Watch Out For on my last trip to the library. The main storyline in that one is that most of the major characters are moving.

The academic robes in Maurice were a little too skimpy to get away with jammies underneath. And they had to wear the silly hats.

Book withdrawal is the worst!
I already packed my books, too, but I left out the LOTR collection, just for comfort. The shelf looks so empty!

I did definitely feel a thrill of horror when I packed the last book away. But I have half a shelf of library books to console me. The apartment is beginning to look different, though. Filled with boxes, the curtains down, the kachina dolls packed. . .

Did you find things you thought lost forever yet?

Not exactly. I have found things I'd forgotten I had. It turns out I have far more sheet music than I realized. Raise your hand if you're surprised. . .
