It's Snowing! Again.

Because another couple of inches of snow is just what Hyde Park needs. Yessir, we had clear sidewalks a couple of days ago, and that just can't be. What we all needed was more snow.

On the upside, this does mean that it's warmed up enough to snow. This is progress, of a sort.

My front walk is drifted two feet deep again. My snow service came this morning but couldn't get their snow blower started. Our Christmas lights are still out there because they were frozen down in mid-December and we haven't had enough of a thaw to pry them out since them.

I think I'm going to give up.

Are you even going to be able to get out of the house to move to sunny San Diego?

On the downside, the big story in the Trib today is that when it's really, really cold, you get more snow for the amount of moisture, or something.

Also all the municipalities are out of salt so driving is going to be really, really interesting.

People have been going really slow down in Hyde Park, and the bus just crawled. I think the city probably still has some salt, or at least, the landlords do.

It's snowing in New York too today (only a couple of inches so far in Brooklyn, but sticking and showing no signs of stopping). But this is our first honest snow this winter, so I can't really complain.

The first snow is always fun.

Six or seven snows later, it gets old.

I got a flat tire on my bicycle two weeks ago and somehow I'm not feeling motivated to fix it yet. It was also snowing when I got the flat tire.

Yup, this is why God invented the bus.

Hmm. So at what point does the snow actually stop? March? April? August?

(I spent lunchtime today sitting in the park in the sunshine ;-)

Oh yeah? How are the frogs and daffodils doing, Jay? ;-D

I'll be punished when it rains for the whole summer.

Mostly it stops by April. Although April can surprise you. Recall that I spent Passover last year trapped in Cleveland on account of freak blizzards there.

I was looking at the news this morning and you guys are just having horrific weather. I don't see how you can stand it. Thank heavens you don't have to drive in it. ('course that just means you're walking in it while other idiots are driving...)

Yeah, but you have to put up with Florida in the summer.
