Dance, Dance, Dance!

I went dancing tonight for the first time since the night before I went to the hospital. It felt goooooooooooood to be setting and skip-changing and poussetting and grand chaining and all that. I've missed the other dancers, too. Life is really back to normal.

Just in time for surgery on the 21st. Ah, yes, the Almighty has one hell of a sense of humor. But at least I got to dance tonight, and probably next week as well.

Glad you're feeling good enough to dance, FP. And this will soon be over.

It does feel good to dance again. And I'm not as out of dancing shape as I thought I'd be, either. Even though I haven't danced since just before I got sick, I could still go the whole session.

And after the surgery, I'll be back dancing even sooner. And it will all be over. Gotta keep remembering that.

But if you're well enough to dance, you're healing well enough you don't need an operation, right? Right?
Mar. 10th, 2008 05:01 pm (UTC)
Alas, I do need the operation. There's still the grody blockage that caused the appendix to get infected in the first place, and there's still the shredded, rotting remains of the appendix itself that have to come out.

Oh sweetheart! I hope it's a simpler operation than it sounds. Probably only an hour or so and then you get ice cream! Or at least ice chips. And friends and family bring you silly balloons and flowers and gossip mags.
When's the op? I'll send lots of good vibes!

They can do it laparoscopically, which is with a small incision, and they say that I can go home the next day. And Mom Pony is going to come be with me, too.

It's going to be March 21.

Oh that's much better than what my friend had to go through in high school. Minimum discomfort, too. I wrote the date down, you'll be in my thoughts.

Thanks. They said I might even get to enjoy a little of Spring Break, so I'm optimistic about this.

Yay for dancing! You're having surgery on an auspicious day:)
Mar. 10th, 2008 07:04 pm (UTC)
Well, among other things, it's the Friday before Spring Break, which is plenty auspicious for me. It means I have all of Spring Break to recover.
Mar. 10th, 2008 07:16 pm (UTC)
Well, excellent. It's also my birthday;)
Mar. 10th, 2008 07:23 pm (UTC)
It's also my birthday;)

Aha! Now I know why it's auspicious. Well, I will have to sing an early "Morning Sun" for you, since I probably won't remember on the actual day.
Mar. 10th, 2008 07:40 pm (UTC)
I'll take any kind of celebrating I can get:) Thanks!
Mar. 10th, 2008 08:00 pm (UTC)
Yaaaayyy!! I'm glad you were able to go and had a good time. Hopefully you won't be too long recovering from your op and can get completely back to normal. And all the suffering will be a distant memory!

I have the distinct feeling that I've been through the worst of the appendix saga already, and that this surgery won't be nearly as bad as some of the other things I've endured.
Mar. 11th, 2008 04:43 am (UTC)
Good to hear you're well enough to be dancing again and feeling good doing it. Hope you heal quickly after surgery so that maybe you get to enjoy some of your spring break.
Mar. 11th, 2008 12:02 pm (UTC)
Well, Mom Pony is going to come be with me for a few days, and the nurse thinks I'll get to enjoy the end of Spring Break, so I'm fairly optimistic.

I was wondering the outcome of the impending surgery but didn't want to ask on my LJ. I'll be sending happy thoughts your way that day, for what it's worth. :)

Yup. Surgery is on Friday. Which, I just realized, is the day after Lancelot's surgery. Well, let him know I grok his pain.
