For some reason, it's been an exhausting week. I am very ready for the weekend. Especially after being "on" for thirteen hours yesterday with a grand total of maybe fifty minutes of downtime.

But all was redeemed today when I went to the Reynolds Club to lounge around between Hebrew class and the Yiddish Studies special lecture at three. Some mysterious event had just ended, an event that involved nice box lunches. And, of course, there was much food left over. So the organizers brought it all into the student lounge -- trays of doughnuts and rolls, little boxes of orange juice, and the nice box lunches. So I grabbed an orange juice and a box lunch, and now I have a nice dinner waiting for me.

Sometimes, it's the little things that can just make my day.

Isn't it nice when someone else can meet some of your basic needs?:)

By the way, I have no idea what we sang last night:) We attempted Symyadda and Halleluah and Samanthra tonight.

I love Samanthra. It's very satisfying somehow.

And I do enjoy being taken care of sometimes. Especially when I'm not too sick to appreciate it.

Nothing like catered food popping up unexpectedly. Have a good weekend, FP.

The best part about a box lunch like that is that cleanup is so easy. You eat dinner, then just toss the box. Once in a while, that's just what one needs.

I think for me it was second week, when all the classes are in full swing, with homework and everything, and you have to really gear up.

Bleh. Can't type. I'm going to bed now.

I have no idea what the event was, but the attendees were well fed. That was a nice box lunch.

I do plan on taking some well-earned rest this weekend. I'll lounge around, listen to dastgah, catsit for a friend, work on turning a dress into a skirt, that sort of thing.

Sometimes the little things are the best, escpecially when they're unexpected.

Enjoy your downtime.

Thanks. A nap and some laundry and a fennel casserole will be the perfect set of activities today, I think.

:-) The life of a grad student. I got free lunch on Friday, bought by my department in appreciation for finishing a project. It is amazing what a difference little things make, isn't it?

Just a little thing like a box lunch can really lift the spirit. Roast beef sandwich, pasta salad, fruit, cookies, and orange juice. That's all it takes. Guess I'm just a cheap date.
