One Year Of Grad School, Killed Dead!

One gamelan concert, one monster bibliography, and two final papers. Done, done, done, and for-all-intents-and-purposes done! I finished my last final paper this morning, and after I make my bed and feed my face, I will mosey on down to school, print that sucker up, and hand it in. I will probably do a few minor revisions to the idea flow just before I print it, but I have said what I wanted to say. That seminar paper is dead, dead, dead.

I can't believe it. I've survived my first year of graduate school. I hope my grades this semester are okay. Last semester's GPA was 3.85, and I'd like to keep it in that general vicinity. But I'll worry about that later. For now, I've survived my first year of grad school, and I think I'll take the next few days to be insufferably proud of myself.

(And enjoy the book that my folklore professor has left outside his office as a little gift for me.)

Congratulations, Pony! That's a tough year that you've survived and more than survived.

Thank you. I feel much more accomplished than I have in a very long time.

BIG congrats, and HUGS.

That is sooo awesome. (So wants to go to Grad school now, too!)

Sooo proud of ya! :D. 3.85 is awesome. (And no less than I'd expect, considering the stuff you talk about on here!)

Thank you! I hope I keep the 3.85. I'm pretty sure I'll get an A in gamelan and an A in American Folk and Vernacular Music, but we'll have to see about Ethnobibliography and the seminar.

Yay for you! That's great. No doubt you'll have that "isn't there something I should be doing" feeling for a while until you get used to the freedom ;-) What are you up to for the summer?

Well, today was Market Day, and then there was klezmer dancing in the street in front of the state house.

For the rest of the summer, I'll be alternately working for pay, partying hearty with my grad school pals and pet freshman (who is now a pet sophomore), and starting research on my master's thesis.
