First Comps Hurdle Passed

The e-mail went out from the Music Department this afternoon: I did not get a callback on my history exam. This means that I am not at the cusp of passing or failing. Either I passed or I failed, and they will send out the final results on the 16th.

There's no question about what that means. But if you say so I'll wait with releasing the conga-rats until after the 16th...

It's definitely looking good. But I gotta be sure, you know?

My impulse is to say "Yay!" but I don't want to jinx you.

I'm settling for "cautiously optimistic and happy that I don't have to do another callback." That'll do for now.

I didn't say anything.

Thank you!

I didn't hear anything.

Waiting for grades. Always so much fun. I join in the cautious optimism.

The waiting is always such a long, drawn-out process, too. I think that this is where the "academic hazing" part of comps tends to come in.

Congratulations then! That must feel good!

Right now, I'm holding myself at "cautiously optimistic." We'll see how things progress on Thursday.

I am quite sure that you passed!
Oct. 11th, 2008 06:36 pm (UTC)
We'll find out on Thursday . . .

fingers crossed! :-)

*bites fingernails more optimistically*

I know how you did, and I think you do, too, but shall hold off on actually saying as much out loud. :-)

We will not mention certainty until after Thursday. No jinxing allowed.
